The Driver Gear is written by a researcher who digs through specs and driver reviews — and who refuses to dress up a spec sheet as a road test.
A spec sheet is not a road test. We score what we can verify, and label everything else for what it is.

Who Writes This
Writes and scores every guide on this site. Marcus Reid is a pen name — the driver behind it prefers the cab to the spotlight.
The Rules Every Review Follows
1. Separate the sources. Reviews separate personal experience, manufacturer claims, and outside research. Each is labelled for what it is.
2. No borrowed testing. Products are not called tested unless they were used in a cab. Research-based scores are labelled provisional — specs + reviews.
3. Affiliate links ARE active and labelled. Buying guides contain affiliate links to Amazon.ca. Every one is labelled #affiliate before the first link, and a commission may be earned at no extra cost to the buyer. See the affiliate disclosure.
4. Commissions never move a score. Recommendations are scored independently; a commission does not change the score or product ranking. Gear that is poor value gets called out.
5. Prices are dated, not promised. Prices are researched in CAD and dated at the page level. They change often — the button sends you to Amazon.ca for the current price.
How Scores Are Built
We score seat cushions on four equally weighted criteria, each out of 5: pressure relief, stability, cab fit, and value and availability in Canada. We compare manufacturer specifications with current Canadian retail information and relevant outside research, and we label personal experience separately. A product is never called tested unless it was used in a truck cab. Prices and availability are dated at the page level and can change.
